Molecular Bubble in Cepheus A
(a): A high resolution image of the molecular shells to the west of the core of
Cepheus A taken with the CFHT. The H_2 breaks up into a number of unresolved clumps within each shell.
Seeing in these images is 0.6". (b): Same as (a) but with a narrow band continuum image subtracted.
(c): Same as (b) but with the image displayed to show the frothy bubble outlined by the
molecular shells. (d): An expanded view of the shells shown in (b). The bright clumps of
H_2 lie along the edges of the shells.
