Mass Accretion Rates of Primaries and Secondaries
The disks are not independent around close binaries -- mass
accretion rates of primaries and their secondaries clearly
correlate. The secondaries are quite active, and accrete
at a rate comparable to that of their primaries (the line
shows equal mass accretion rates). When normalized by the
mass, the accretion rates of the secondaries are even slightly
larger than those of their primaries, on average.
